106TH GREY CUP PLAYOFF SCENARIOS - WEEK 18

TORONTO (October 9, 2018) -- Below are the 106th Grey Cup playoff scenarios for Week 18:

WEST DIVISION

Calgary Win + Saskatchewan Loss OR Tie = Calgary clinches first place in division and hosts Western Final on November 18

Calgary Tie + Saskatchewan Loss = Calgary clinches first place in division and hosts Western Final on November 18

Saskatchewan Win + BC Loss or Tie = Saskatchewan clinches a home playoff date

EAST DIVISION

Playoff positioning cannot be determined this week

CROSSOVER

A West Division team will crossover to the East Division for the third consecutive season

CLINCHED:

  • Calgary Stampeders clinched a home playoff date
  • Saskatchewan Roughriders have clinched a playoff berth
  • Ottawa REDBLACKS clinched a home playoff date
  • Hamilton Tiger-Cats clinched a home playoff date
     

ELIMINATED:

  • Montreal Alouettes
  • Toronto Argonauts

NOTES:

  • Calgary has secured a home playoff date for the seventh consecutive year
  • Ottawa REDBLACKS have secured a home playoff date for the fourth consecutive season
  • The West Division will crossover for a record third-year in a row
  • Ottawa and Hamilton play a home-and-home series in Week 19 and 20 where it will be determined who will win the East Division. Ottawa won the first game in Week 7
  • If Saskatchewan were to lose their remaining games, the worst they could finish is fourth in the West Division which would make them the crossover team

CROSSOVER RULE:

If the fourth-place team in division A has more points, not tied, than the third-place team in division B, the fourth-place team will cross over to division B, replace the third-place team in division A, and compete against the second-place team of that division.
