BERTA TALLIES THIRTY REPS IN THE BENCH AS CFL COMBINE BEGINS
Herzog’s 39 inches tops the vertical jump; 40-yard dash and more set for 7 p.m. CT/8 p.m. ET
WINNIPEG (March 21, 2024) – Offensive lineman Ryan Berta from Queen’s University notched 30 reps in the bench press to lead all prospects as the Canadian Football League (CFL) Combine presented by New Era got underway. The afternoon session also saw running back Michael Herzog from Hillsdale College register the day’s highest jump at 39 inches.
The evening testing session comprising the 40-yard dash, 3-cone, short shuttle and the broad jump from the Winnipeg Soccer Federation North indoor facility will begin at 7 p.m. CT/8 p.m. ET.
The 40-yard dash, as well as Sunday’s practice session, will be livestreamed for free on CFL+.
The CFL Combine gathers the top national and global prospects to showcase their skills for coaches, general managers and team personnel from the league’s nine member clubs in anticipation of the CFL Draft and the CFL Global Draft on April 30.
