CFL TOP PERFORMERS – WEEK 18

TORONTO (October 12, 2022) – Dalton Schoen, Wes Hills and Malik Carney are the Canadian Football League (CFL)’s Top Performers for Week 18 of the 2022 season.

The three players were chosen by a panel of judges made up of Matt Dunigan and Marshall Ferguson of TSN, and Pierre Vercheval of RDS, who independently send their selections to the CFL league office.

WR | DALTON SCHOEN | WINNIPEG BLUE BOMBERS | WPG 48 – EDM 11

• 7-of-8 receiving for career-highs in yards (162) and touchdowns (three)
• Five second down conversion receptions; 37 total yards after catch
• Second Top Performer honour (Week 5)
• 2022 season: 16 games, leads the league with 1,275 receiving yards and 14 receiving touchdowns
• Highlights:
  • Schoen extends the Blue Bombers’ advantage
  • The rookie doubles down to open the second
  • Hat-Trick touchdown for Schoen

RB | WES HILLS | HAMILTON TIGER-CATS | HAM 18 – SSK 14

• Career-bests in carries (25) and rushing yards (132)
• First game eclipsing the 100-rushing yard mark
• Two rushes for 10+ yards
• 2022 season: 4 games, 53 carries, 291 rushing yards and one touchdown
• Highlights:
  • Hills bulls his way through in the third
  • Hills adds a 26-yard catch to his performance

DE | MALIK CARNEY | HAMILTON TIGER-CATS | HAM 18 – SSK 14

• Four defensive tackles, one tackle for a loss and a career-high three sacks, resulting in 18 lost yards
• First career multi-sack game
• 2022 season: 15 games, 24 tackles, five special team tackles, seven sacks, one forced fumble and one touchdown
• Highlights:
  • Carney hunts down Fajardo
  • Ticats D collects its sixth sack of the night
  • Carney makes it three
