CFL TOP PERFORMERS – WEEK 8

TORONTO (August 2, 2022) – Quarterbacks Nathan Rourke, Zach Collaros and Caleb Evans are the Canadian Football League (CFL)’s Top Performers for Week 8 of the 2022 season.

The three players were chosen by a panel of judges made up of Matt Dunigan and Marshall Ferguson of TSN, and Pierre Vercheval of RDS, who independently send their selections to the CFL league office.

QB | NATHAN ROURKE | BC LIONS | BC 32 – SSK 17

• 326 passing yards – third game of the season with 300+
• 27-of-33 (81.8 per cent) and two touchdown passes
• Eight rushes for 20 yards, including a touchdown run
• 132.9 passer efficiency rating
• League leader in touchdown passes (16) and completion percentage (79.3); second in passing (1,941 yards)
• On the ground in 2022: 208 yards (average of 7.7 yards) with four touchdowns
• Third Top Performer of the Week honour (Weeks 1 and 3)
• Highlights:
  • Rourke scores on 1-yard plunge
  • Rourke finds Rhymes for one-handed touchdown catch
  • Cottoy scores 15-yard touchdown from Rourke

QB | ZACH COLLAROS | WINNIPEG BLUE BOMBERS | WPG 35 – CGY 28

• 270 passing yards, four touchdown passes and zero interceptions
• Sixth-career game with 4+ touchdown (personal record of five on August 20, 2016)
• 73.3 per cent passing (22-of-30)
• Highest passer efficiency rating of the season (145.1)
• Leads league in passing yards (1,948), second in touchdown passes (15) and third in completion percentage (70.2 per cent)
• Second Top Performer honour in July (Week 5)
• Highlights:
  • Demski collects his first major of the season
  • Collaros finds Demski for 16-yard TD
  • Schoen hauls in 26-yard TD in the corner of the endzone
  • Collaros finds Schoen for his fourth passing touchdown in the game

QB | CALEB EVANS | OTTAWA REDBLACKS | OTT 23 – TOR 13

• 286 yards on 82.8 per cent passing and two touchdowns
• Second-highest career efficiency rating (135.1)
• Second career multi-touchdown game
• Two 30+ yard passes, including a 46-yard effort to Jaelon Acklin
• 31 yards on the ground, including an 11-yard rush
• Highlights:
  • Evans rolls out of pocket and finds Acklin for a touchdown
  • Behar scores on dart from Evans
