EIGHT PLAYERS FROM TORONTO REGIONAL COMBINE INVITED TO THE NATIONAL CFL COMBINE PRESENTED BY ADIDAS

Biewald, Brown, Egerter, Jackson, Johnson, Kashak, Kett and O’Halloran selected to attend the National Combine

TORONTO  – The Canadian Football League (CFL) held its third and final Regional Combine today in Toronto, resulting in eight players being invited to the CFL National Combine presented by adidas in downtown Toronto beginning Friday March, 11.

John Biewald, Malcolm Brown, Donnie Egerter, Kevin Jackson, Shaquille Johnson, Michael Kashak, Jamal Kett and Nathan O’Halloran were extended an invitation to display their athletic abilities once again in front of CFL scouts, coaches, and management at the National CFL Combine, March 11-13. With the eight additions, the roster for the National CFL Combine has increased to 51 prospects.

Overall, 44 players attended today’s Regional Combine in Montreal and each athlete worked out in front of scouts from all CFL Teams. Click here to view the roster and all the results from the Toronto Regional Combine.  

The 2016 National CFL Combine presented by adidas kicks off Friday afternoon with player arrivals, medicals and team interviews. On Saturday the prospects will showcase their strength in the bench press as well as their vertical jump inside the Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport on the University of Toronto Downtown Campus.

The camp will conclude on Sunday at the Varsity Centre where the prospects will go through the 40-yard dash, short shuttle, 3-cone drill, individual drills and one-on-ones.

The CFL Draft is slated for May 10th. The CFL regular season kicks off Thursday, June 23rd when the Toronto Argonauts host the Hamilton Tiger-Cats at their new home, BMO Field. Friday Night Football debuts June 24th when the Winnipeg Blue Bombers host the Montreal Alouettes. And on June 25th, the Edmonton Eskimos host the Ottawa REDBLACKS, in a rematch of the 103rd Grey Cup, and the Calgary Stampeders visit the BC Lions.

The 2016 National CFL Combine presented by adidas will have unprecedented live coverage of the marquee events; Bench Press and 40-Yard Dash. Both of these events will be broadcasted live with commentary from Don Landry and Justin Dunk, alongside guest general managers and coaches providing instant analysis.

Live results from each drill will be posted on CFL.ca from all three CFL Regional Combines as well as the National CFL Combine.
