FOUR PROSPECTS FROM EASTERN REGIONAL COMBINE INVITED TO CFL COMBINE PRESENTED BY ADIDAS

DUBOIS, GENDRON-DUMOUCHEL, HOWELL, MBAYE EARN SPOTS AT CFL COMBINE

Wednesday, March 7, 2017 — MONTREAL – The Canadian Football League (CFL) held its first of three regional combines today in Montreal. Four players were extended an invitation to the CFL Combine presented by adidas in Winnipeg from March 24-25.

Marco Dubois, Arnaud Gendron-Dumouchel, Justin Howell and Khadim Mbaye were invited to display their athletic abilities once again in front of CFL scouts, coaches, and management at the CFL Combine. With today’s five additions, the roster for the CFL Combine presented by adidas has increased to 45 prospects.

Receiver Marco Dubois had a standout day, finishing atop the charts in vertical (37 inches) and broad jump (10’4.5”). He also ran the fastest 40-yard time of the day at 4.56 seconds, and racked up 19 bench reps, second-most among receivers. The 6’4” Laval product finished the shuttle drill in the top six.

6’8” Arnaud Gendron-Dumouchel pumped out 17 reps on the bench press in a show of strength. The Montreal offensive lineman finished second among his O-Line cohorts in the three-cone drill.

Carleton’s Justin Howell had the second-fastest 40-yard time of the day, clocking in at 4.58 seconds. The 5’10” defensive back had the second-fastest three-cone time at 7.14 and the second-fastest shuttle time at 4.19. He finished sixth overall in the broad jump with 9’8” and seventh overall in vertical (33 inches).

Khadim Mbaye, the 6’1”, 236lb Ottawa linebacker, pumped out 20 bench reps, second-most among linebackers.

Overall, 47 players attended today’s Eastern Regional Combine in Montreal and each athlete worked out in front of scouts from all CFL Teams. Click here to view the roster and all the results from the Eastern Regional Combine.  

Last year’s Eastern Regional Combine saw Malcolm Carter, Alexandre Chevrier, Mathieu Dupuis, Anthony Gosselin and Harland Hastings invited to CFL Combine. Gosselin was drafted 18th overall to Ottawa, Carter went to Montreal at 43rd overall, Dupuis was chosen by Ottawa at 44th overall and Chevrier was selected 55th overall by Saskatchewan in the 2017 CFL Draft.

The Ontario Regional Combine will take place in Toronto on March 9 and the Western Regional Combine will take place on March 22 in Winnipeg. Schedules for each Regional Combine and CFL Combine can be found here.
