#MarksCFLWeek Preview - Wednesday, March 22nd

A LOOK AHEAD - Media Day 2, FanFest, and Canadian Football Hall of Fame VIP Reception

(REGINA) - Mark's CFL Week continues with another day of up-close media access and fan events before the league honours its heroes at the Rougriders' new Mosaic Stadium. A second CFL Respect Camp with Red Cross presented by Shaw will kick off FanFest for Wednesday, and the Canadian Football Hall of Fame VIP Reception will celebrate the announcement of the Hall of Fame's Class of 2017.

The Canadian Football Hall of Fame VIP Reception (7:00pm - 10:00pm) will be a chance to celebrate our past in style alongside top players and alumni. Media present at Mark's CFL Week in Regina will have access to paper copies of the embargoed release at 5:00pm in the Queensbury Convention Centre Ballroom A during dinner before travelling to a media workroom at Mosaic Stadium for the reception. A media availability with the inductees will take place before the reception and the embargo will be lifted at approximately 7:40pm upon the announcement of the Class of 2017. 9:00am - 5:00pm | Queensbury Convention Centre Ballroom A, Evraz Place

Media Day - Groups of players will be cycling through Media Day for interviews and up-close access. Lunch will be served for members of the media from 12:00pm - 1:00pm. 

Approximately 10:30am | Queensbury Convention Centre Ballroom A, Evraz Place

Rules Committee Media Availability - CFL VP of Football Glen Johnson will speak to the media after the Rules Committee makes their final vote.

1:00pm - 3:00pm | Banner Hall, Evraz Place

CFL Respect Camp with the Red Cross presented by ShawA youth rally for students to foster healthy relationships and peer-to-peer support systems, encouraging leadership, inclusion, and building safe communities. In attendance: Commissioner Orridge (CFL), Chethan Lakshman (Shaw), Luc Mullinder, Dan Clark, Spencer Moore, Nic Demski, and others.

This event is open to the media. From 1:40pm - 2:00pm media may request availability for Chethan Lakshman, Luc Mullinder, or the CFL players in attendance

3:00pm - 9:00pm | Banner Hall & Ag-Ex Building, Evraz Place

CFL FanFest - The FanFest is open to the public.

4:00pm - 5:00pm | FanFest, Evraz Place

#MarksCFLWeek Live - Host Brodie Lawson will speak to a full cast of CFL stars, including Adarius Bowman, Greg Ellingson, Ernest Jackson, Jonathon Jennings, Simoni Lawrence, Shawn Lemon, Brad Sinopoli, and Odell Willis. Fans across the country can watch live on CFL.ca.

5:00pm - 6:30pm | Queensbury Convention Centre Ballroom A, Evraz Place

Media Dinner & Media CFHoF Embargo Room - Dinner will be provided by the CFL inside the media room. Paper copies of the announcement will be given to media under a strict embargo. Please confirm attendance in advance with Lucas Barrett ([email protected]).

5:00pm - 9:00pm | Fan Cave, Evraz Place

CFL Trivia - Put your mind and memory to the test with questions from Steve Daniel, the league's head statistician.

5:30pm - 6:15pm | CFL FanFest, Evraz Place

CFL player autograph signings - Rob Bagg, Weston Dressler, Simoni Lawrence and Naaman Roosevelt will be signing autographs.

6:00pm - 9:00pm | CFL FanFest, Evraz Place

Riders Classic Game Viewing - Classic Riders games will be streaming for viewings hosted in the CFL FanFest.

6:30pm | AGT Lounge, Mosaic Stadium

Media depart for the Canadian Football Hall of Fame VIP Reception - Media will be escorted to their workroom at Mosaic Stadium. Media will be able to speak to the inductees prior to the announcement under a strict embargo.

7:00pm - 10:00pm | AGT Lounge, Mosaic Stadium

Canadian Football Hall of Fame VIP Reception - The Class of 2017 for the Canadian Football Hall of Fame will be announced at a cocktail reception.

Media availability with the Class of 2017 will take place at approximately 8:00 p.m.

Canadian Football Hall of Fame VIP Reception - The Class of 2017 will be announced onstage and the media embargo will be lifted.
