MEDIA ADVISORY: CFL PROSPECT ALONZO ADDAE TO SPEAK TO MEDIA ON TUESDAY

Pickering, Ontario native and current West Virginia Mountaineers' defensive back to discuss his past season and looking forward to the 2021 season

TORONTO (MARCH 15, 2021) – The Canadian Football League (CFL) will be holding a media availability with football prospect from West Virginia University, Alonzo Addae.

Alonzo Addae Notes:

  • Born and raised in Pickering, Ontario.
  • Attended St. Mary's Catholic Secondary School in Toronto and attended Peddie School (Highstown, N.J.), for a postgraduate year.
  • Chose to attend University of New Hampshire where he played two seasons, playing in 24 games and racking up 61 tackles, 10 passes defended, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery.
  • After his two seasons with New Hampshire, Addae transferred to West Virginia. In his first season he played in 10 games, 66 tackles, 2 interceptions and 7 passes defended.
  • In the final two games of the season, Addae was named a team captain.
  • During the 2020 season, West Virginia finished 6-4 and won the AutoZone Liberty Bowl over Army, 24-21.
  • Addae earned All-Big 12 Second Team honors by the league coaches, he was also recognized on the All-Big 12 team selected by Pro Football Focus.
  • Addae announced he will be using his extra year of eligibility in the NCAA.
  • In the Winter Scouting Bureau, Addae was ranked 12th on the list.
