MEDIA ADVISORY: SHAW CFL AWARDS

FANS CAN WATCH THE WINNERS ANNOUNCED ONLINE

Wednesday, November 21, 2018 — EDMONTON –  Media are invited to attend the Shaw CFL Awards tomorrow on Thursday, November 22nd at the Winspear Centre in Edmonton, hosted by TSN’s James Duthie and Natasha Staniszewski. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. MT, a portion of the Red Carpet will be live-streamed on CFL.ca/live at 7:00 pm MT, and the show gets underway at 7:30 p.m. MT.

Doors to the media lockdown room will be opened at 6:00 p.m. At that time, media will be provided with the results under an embargo. Media will be prohibited from publicizing any information until after each award presentation has been announced. After each award, the winning player will be made available to the media in the lockdown room. A light dinner will be served at 6:15 p.m.

The show will also be streamed live on the CFL.ca/live for fans who want to watch from across the country. The Shaw CFL Awards is a sold-out event.

The Shaw CFL Awards will honour this season’s top players and pay tribute to Canadian football legends and leaders in the community. The Shaw CFL Awards include seven categories, and are decided by 68 voters from the Football Reporters of Canada and head coaches from across the league.

The Tom Pate Memorial Award (selected by the CFLPA) and the Jake Gaudaur Veterans’ Award will also be given out on this special evening. Commissioner Randy Ambrosie will recognize leaders in the football world with the Commissioner’s Award and the Hugh Campbell Distinguished Leadership Award.
