MEDIA ADVISORY: TOP PROSPECT PATRICE RENE TO SPEAK TO MEDIA ON WEDNESDAY
Ottawa, Ontario native and current Rutgers Scarlet Knights' defensive back to discuss his past season and looking forward to the 2021 season.
TORONTO (MARCH 23, 2021) – The Canadian Football League (CFL) will be holding a media availability with football prospect from Rutgers University, Patrice Rene.
Patrice Rene Notes:
- Born in Haiti and raised in Ottawa, Ontario.
- Attended St. Peter’s High School for two years before attending Episcopal High School in Virginia. During his time at Episcopal he played with two other Canadians who currently play in the NCAA; Jonathan Sutherland (Penn State) and Luiji Villain (Wake Forest).
- Rene chose to attend University of North Carolina where he played five seasons, playing in 42 games (starting 27) and racking up 103 tackles, 14 passes defended, two interceptions and four tackles for a loss.
- During the 2020 season, North Carolina finished 8-4 and played in the Orange Bowl against Texas A&M.
- At the end of the season, Rene entered his name in the NCAA Transfer Portal and selected to play his final season with Rutgers University.
- In the Winter Scouting Bureau, Rene was ranked 13th on the list.
