MULTI-PLATINUM, GRAMMY-NOMINATED ONEREPUBLIC TO PERFORM AT 104TH GREY CUP PRESENTED BY SHAW

TORONTO (September 7, 2016) – The CFL announced today that OneRepublic will headline the WIND Mobile Halftime Show at the 104th Grey Cup presented by Shaw on November 27th in Toronto at BMO Field. Canada’s biggest annual sporting event will be broadcast LIVE on TSN, RDS, ESPN2 (USA), BT Sport (Ireland and UK), and on TSN Radio and Sirius XM satellite radio beginning at 6pm ET.

“We are honored that the CFL invited us to perform at this year’s Grey Cup! Canada is a special place for us, and getting the chance to perform and watch great football live will be a blast,” said OneRepublic.

“OneRepublic is one of the biggest bands in the world – they have played for millions of fans internationally and we are thrilled to have them at this year’s Grey Cup in Toronto,” added Christina Litz, SVP Marketing and Content, CFL. “This promises to be quite a show for the fans attending Grey Cup at BMO Field and for the millions of others watching in Canada and around the world.”

OneRepublic has released two new singles, Wherever I Go” (May 2016) and “Kids” (August 2016) on Interscope Records / Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company. Both singles will be on OneRepublic’s upcoming fourth album entitled OH MY MY, set for release on October 7, 2016. The album will be the follow-up to OneRepublic’s 2013 album NATIVE, which debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard Top 200 chart and has sold over five million units worldwide. It produced the hit singles “If I Lose Myself”, “Feel Again”, “Love Runs Out”, “I Lived”, and “Counting Stars”, which reached No. 1 in 54 countries and has sold over 10 million downloads.

OneRepublic, led by singer and songwriter, Ryan Tedder, guitarist Zach Filkins, drummer Eddie Fisher, guitarist Drew Brown, and bassist Brent Kutzle, released their debut album DREAMING OUT LOUD in 2007. The album included the smash single “Apologize”, which shattered digital sales and airplay records worldwide and received a Grammy nomination. The band’s second album, 2009’s WAKING UP, produced three singles: “All the Right Moves”, “Secrets”, and “Good Life”. Tedder is also a Grammy-winning songwriter and producer who has worked with such artists as Taylor Swift, Adele, Beyoncé, U2, Ellie Goulding, Maroon 5 and many others.

“WIND Mobile customers are passionate Canadian football fans,” said Alek Krstajic, CEO, WIND Mobile. “Our participation in the country’s preeminent sporting event brings our customers closer to the game with exclusive opportunities and unrivaled Grey Cup access that they can’t get anywhere else. This partnership with the CFL puts our customers first.”

The 104th Grey Cup presented by Shaw will be played Sunday, November 27, 2016 at Toronto’s newly-renovated BMO Field. This year’s championship will be the first outdoor Grey Cup game, since 1982, to be played in Toronto. Grey Cup tickets on sale now: www.cfl.ca/greycup
