THREE GREAT WAYS TO EXPERIENCE THE SHAW CFL AWARDS

FANS CAN BUY TICKETS TO THE CEREMONY, ATTEND A SPECIAL VIEWING PARTY, OR WATCH THE WINNERS ANNOUNCED ONLINE

TORONTO –  Now there are three great ways for fans to experience the Shaw CFL Awards on Thursday, November 24, one of the premier events leading up to next Sunday’s 104th Grey Cup presented by Shaw.

A limited number of tickets are available, at a cost of $125, for fans who want to attend the awards ceremony in Bailie Court at the beautiful Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO) in downtown Toronto.

For $30, fans can buy a ticket to attend a special viewing party in Walker Court at the AGO, and watch the awards on a big screen along with their fellow CFL supporters.

Fans who attend the ceremony and fans who attend the viewing party both get access to the award nominees’ red carpet arrival, and the on-site parties that precede and follow the show.

Finally, fans who cannot be at the AGO that night can follow the festivities online. For the first time, the Shaw CFL awards will be streamed on Facebook Live.

“We are very proud of our players and coaches and their outstanding achievement. And we are very appreciative of our fans, who make everything we do possible,” said Jeffrey L. Orridge, Commissioner of the Canadian Football League.

“Since space at the awards ceremony is limited, and demand for tickets is high, we are doing new and innovative things to ensure the entire CFL family can be part of this event. The viewing party is something new for the awards and it gives more fans the chance to share the awards with their fellow fans, and the opportunity to mingle with the players and other CFL personalities before and after the ceremony. And we’re thrilled that we’re working with Facebook to share the award presentations with fans everywhere.”

Fans who buy a $125 ticket to the ceremony or a $30 ticket to the nearby viewing party also get access to:

  • The Shaw CFL Awards Red Carpet;
  • Photo opportunities with all 2016 player and coach nominees;
  • Pre-award show cocktail party;
  • Official viewing party in the AGO’s beautiful Walker Court; and a
  • Post-award show reception.

The Shaw CFL Awards will honour this season’s best players and coaches and pay tribute to some Canadian football legends and community leaders. The Most Outstanding Player awards, which include six categories, are decided by voters from the Football Reporters of Canada and head coaches from across the League.
