SHAW CFL TOP PERFORMERS – WEEK 10

Reilly, Marshall and Williams-Lambert named Shaw CFL Top Performers

TORONTO (August 21st, 2018) – Mike Reilly, Nick Marshall and Jordan Williams-Lambert were named the Shaw CFL Top Performers of the Week for Week 10 of the CFL’s 2018 season.

The three players were chosen by a panel of judges who independently send their selections to the CFL head office. The panel includes former Canadian Football League players Matt Dunigan and Duane Forde of TSN and Pierre Vercheval of RDS.

QB | MIKE REILLY | EDMONTON ESKIMOS

Quarterback Mike Reilly had a standout game on Saturday against the Montreal Alouettes, leading Edmonton to a 40-24 home victory.

Reilly posted 424 passing yards over the Alouettes, including 290 in the first half. He completed 88.5% of his passes, going 32 for 42 and threw for three touchdowns in addition to one on the ground.

His huge game propelled him into the 25,000-yard passing club and gave Edmonton 33 first downs.

Reilly solidified Edmonton’s early lead in the first quarter, stringing together two passes to Duke Williams and a few runs of his own to set up Shaq Cooper with an 11-yard toss to run in for the major.

At the top of the second quarter, Reilly capped off a six-play drive with a 10-yard throw to Williams in the end zone for another touchdown. He followed it up with another score on Edmonton’s next drive, throwing 13 yards to Bryant Mitchell in the end zone. Not quite finished yet, Reilly dove over the line midway through the fourth quarter for a rushing touchdown, solidifying Edmonton’s win.

He has 3,046 passing yards in 2018, on pace for 6,092 (and his third consecutive season of 5,000+). He leads the league in yards and touchdowns (19).

Reilly was previously named a Shaw CFL Top Performer in Weeks 1 and 7, as well as a Player of the Month for June.

DB | NICK MARSHALL | SASKATCHEWAN ROUGHRIDERS

Defensive back Nick Marshall helped deliver the Calgary Stampeders their first loss of the 2018 season on Sunday in Saskatchewan.

Marshall earned two touchdowns in the 40-27 victory for the Roughriders alongside 67 yards off an interception and a defensive tackle.

The former Auburn Tiger gave Saskatchewan an early lead in the first quarter by intercepting a Bo Levi pass and returning it 67 yards for a touchdown. The TD was his second pick-six of his first season in the CFL.

Marshall’s second touchdown of the game came on the ground in the third quarter as he found a lane through traffic for a three-yard run. In doing so he became the first Roughrider to score an offensive touchdown and a defensive major in the same game since Jack Gotta in 1963.

In his three games in 2018, Marshall has four defensive tackles, two interceptions, and three touchdowns.

REC | JORDAN WILLIAMS-LAMBERT | SASKATCHEWAN ROUGHRIDERS

First-year receiver Jordan Williams-Lambert was part of the Roughriders’ winning squad over the Calgary Stampeders on Sunday at Mosaic Stadium.

Williams-Lambert collected 152 receiving yards off 10 targets in the contest, earning five second-down conversions.

The Chicago, IL native got right to work, contributing three plays – catches of 11 yards, 37 yards and three yards -  to Saskatchewan’s opening drive to put teammate Brett Lauther in field goal position.

In the third quarter, Williams-Lambert snagged a 22-yard pass from quarterback Zach Collaros as part of a short drive to steer Nick Marshall into touchdown position. The Ball State alum caught a pass for a career-high 39 yards in the fourth quarter, continuing his run of big plays in the contest.

In his eight games this year, Williams-Lambert has 393 yards, 32 receptions and one touchdown.
