SHAW CFL TOP PERFORMERS - WEEK 4

Adrian Tracy, Trevor Harris and Jonathon Jennings named Shaw CFL Top Performers

TORONTO (July 19, 2016) – Adrian Tracy, Trevor Harris and Jonathon Jennings were named the Shaw CFL Top Performers of the Week for Week 4 of the CFL’s 2016 season.

The three players were chosen by a panel of judges who independently send their selections to the CFL head office. The panel includes former Canadian Football League players Matt Dunigan and Duane Forde of TSN, and Pierre Vercheval of RDS.

DL | Adrian Tracy | Hamilton Tiger-Cats

Hamilton Tiger-Cats defensive lineman Adrian Tracy was all over the field at Percival Molson Memorial Stadium in the Tiger-Cats’ 31-7 victory over East Division rival the Montreal Alouettes.

The William and Mary product had a career game, notching career highs in tackles (11), sacks (2) and forced fumbles (2) in a single game.

A native of Fairfax, Virginia, Tracy wrapped up the Alouettes quarterback in the first quarter for his first career CFL sack. He forced a fumble on the play, costing the Alouettes 11 yards.

In the second quarter, Tracy brought down Cato for his second sack of the evening, this time for a five-yard loss.

In four games this season Tracy has accumulated 20 tackles, putting him second on the Tiger-Cats.

QB | Trevor Harris | Ottawa REDBLACKS

Trevor Harris had a record-breaking performance to help the Ottawa REDBLACKS continue their undefeated start after earning their third road victory of the season with a 30-20 win over the Toronto Argonauts.

Harris set a new single-game completion percentage record (with minimum 30+ attempts) with 90.3% after completing 28 of 31 passes for 392 yards versus his former team.

Harris rushed the ball on five attempts, including scoring his first major of the season in the third quarter to give the REDBLACKS a 16-13 advantage.

This season, Harris leads the league is several passing categories including passing yards (1,475), passing touchdowns (9), and completion percentage (82.5%).

This marks the third time this season that Harris has been named a Shaw CFL Top Performer of the Week. His previous accolades came in Weeks 1 and 2.

QB | Jonathon Jennings | BC Lions

BC Lions pivot Jonathon Jennings achieved a new career-high in passing yards en route to a 40-27 road victory over the Saskatchewan Roughriders to keep the Lions atop of the West Division with a 3-1 record.

Jennings finished the game with 429 yards on 25 completions including a trio of touchdowns. The former Saginaw Valley Cardinal also added five rushes for 30 yards including a flea-flicker six-yard touchdown run to give the Lions an early 7-3 lead in the first quarter.

Jennings threw his first touchdown to offensive lineman Jovan Olafioye from eight yards out. In the final quarter, Jennings first found Nick Moore for a 30-yard score and then Shawn Gore for a 59-yard major to break the tie, 32-26.

In his second season in the CFL, Jennings has thrown for 1,037 yards, thrown four touchdown passes, made 91 rushing yards and rushed in for a pair of scores this season.
