SPORT CLIPS HAIRCUTS NEWEST ADDITION TO CFL PARTNERSHIP ROSTER

Sport Clips to join James Cybulski, Davis Sanchez as presenting sponsor of The Waggle Podcast

TORONTO (January 10, 2018) — The Canadian Football League (CFL) announced today a new national partnership with Sport Clips Haircuts, named Entrepreneur Magazine’s Top 10 “Fastest-Growing Franchises” and Top 40 in the “Franchise 500”. Alongside their engagement with the CFL and presence at Grey Cup and throughout the playoffs as they build their brand across Canada, Sport Clips is now the presenting sponsor of the CFL’s flagship podcast ‘The Waggle’.

The Waggle, one of the fastest-growing CFL properties with more than a million downloads since launching 19 months ago, is hosted by Canadian Screen Award nominee James Cybulski and three-time Grey Cup Champion, two-time CFL All-Star, and Most Outstanding Canadian East nominee Davis Sanchez.

Canadians will have access to special deals and Sport Clips opportunities offered solely through The Waggle, as well as a series of Sport Clips digital contests that will engage fans across the country and offer exciting prizes and experiences.

CFL fans and Sport Clip customers will have access to exclusive content and opportunities, including up-close-and-personal player appearances with top CFL heroes and stars at Sport Clip locations in CFL markets.

“We’re thrilled to ring in the new year by bringing another rapidly-growing Canadian brand on board,” said Owen Welsh, Senior Director, Corporate Partnerships, CFL. “Creating memorable experiences and celebrating live sports is at the heart of what the CFL and Sport Clips do, and this partnership is a natural fit that will engage fans year-round at the local and national level.”

“We are equally thrilled to partner with the CFL this year,” said Mark Schiffner, CEO of Sport Clips Canada. “It’s a great fit for our brand and we look forward to our growing relationship.”

The partnership, in a celebration of growing Canadian brands and the local nature of the CFL and Sport Clips’ presence, will also feature franchisee engagement across Canada and integration of Sport Clips’ “sports everywhere” approach. As of, January 11th, Sport Clips will be integrated into The Waggle’s programming as the presenting sponsor.

In the nineteen months since The Waggle’s inaugural show, the podcast has seen exponential growth:

  • 1,000,000+ downloads on iTunes and Google Play+ in the first 18 months
