TONIGHT’S CFL GAME IN EDMONTON TO GO AHEAD AS SCHEDULED

TONIGHT’S CFL GAME IN EDMONTON TO GO AHEAD AS SCHEDULED

TORONTO (August 18, 2018) -- The Canadian Football League (CFL) and the Edmonton Eskimos have released the following statement:

The Edmonton Eskimos and the Canadian Football League are pleased to advise our fans that tonight’s game at The Brick Field at Commonwealth Stadium is going ahead as scheduled at 7 p.m. local time (9 p.m. ET). A favourable weather forecast, featuring winds of 20 to 30 kilometres per hour, and ongoing measurement of the air quality in Edmonton, including readings taken at the stadium itself, indicate the situation caused this week by smoke from wildfires is steadily improving. We have consulted weather experts who advise us the air quality will be at acceptable levels by kick-off for the game between the Edmonton Eskimos and the visiting Montreal Alouettes. We would like to thank our fans for their patience, our players for their professionalism and the media for helping us keep the public informed throughout the week.
